City Government Careers Mixer featuring Dave Sykes, City Manager of San Jose, and young city staff

Come hear from Dave Sykes, City Manager of San José, the 10th largest city in the U.S. about impactful careers in city government.  He will be joined by 8-10 young staff members (including Stanford alumnni) from various departments in the city to talk about their work and to share career advice.  

As City Manager, Dave is focused on eight near-term priorities for San José, including such pressing issues as creating housing and preventing homelessness, developing a smart and sustainable city, and creating vibrant, safe, and inclusive neighborhoods and public life. Dave will share his journey working for the City of San José and how rewarding working for the City of San José and in public service has been for him. Dinner will be provided. Following Dave's talk, mingle with him and eight other City staff members to discuss local government career paths. Both technical and nontechnical career paths will be featured.
